WEEK BY WEEK PUPPY EXPERIENCES

WEEK
1

Puppies spend all their time with mama to encourage mom to participate in all cleaning/feeding activities.
Puppies' weight is monitored to ensure they get enough milk from momma.
Puppies receive their first collars to track weight and growth accurately.
Momma is fed NuVet supplements during pregnancy and nursing. This is passed through the mild to support a healthy immune system.
Any puppies with low birth weight are given extra attention and sometimes alone time with mom to encourage additional feeding.
Mom is monitored for health and given extra nutrition to recover from birth.
No in-person visits are allowed to ensure proper bonding happens.
We DO NOT remove dew claws. These are there for a purpose (to help the dog with stability), and removing them heightens the risk of injury and/or wrist problems.
Deposits are accepted for choice of the litter (Ex. First choice male/female, Second choice...etc.

Puppies continue their time with mom and sleep most of the day.
Puppies' weight is monitored to ensure they get enough milk from momma.
Puppies keep getting NuVet immune support through momma's milk.
Any puppies with low birth weight are given extra attention and sometimes alone time with mom to encourage additional feeding.
Mom is monitored for health and given extra nutrition to recover well from birth.
No in-person visits are allowed to ensure proper bonding happens.
Neurological stimulation begins.
We begin video visits around three weeks.
Deposits are accepted for choice of the litter (Ex. First choice male/female, Second choice...etc.

Puppies begin spending a couple of hours a day away from momma.
Puppies' weight will be monitored weekly from this point on.
Puppies begin being introduced to puppy formula (weaning first steps).
Puppies get NuVet support when nursing and powdered support in their formula.
Puppies are introduced to the doggy door.
Neurological stimulation continues.
In-person visits begin.
Deposits are accepted for choice of the litter (Ex. First choice male/female, Second choice...etc.

Puppies begin spending more time away from momma. About half of their day is with her.
Puppies begin being introduced to puppy mush (softened puppy food) with formula and NuVet supplements.
Puppies get NuVet support when nursing and powdered support in their formula.
Puppies continue using the doggy door.
Neurological stimulation continues.
Puppies begin introduction to basic commands
Puppies spend time with children/noise/etc.
In-person visits continue
Deposits are accepted if any puppies remain available.
Buyers who put down a deposit can begin the choosing process.
Are you a buyer? If so, we recommend preparing for your new puppy this week.

Puppies are now spending only short spurts with mom and are not allowed to nurse.
Puppies' food is slightly softened and no longer has a formula. However, it still has NuVet supplements.
In-person visits continue
Puppies spend time with children/noise/etc.
Deposits are accepted if any puppies remain available.
Buyers who put down a deposit and have not chosen yet will choose their specific puppy this week.
New puppy owners will buy all necessary equipment to bring their puppy home.

Puppies are not spending any time with momma now.
Puppies are now on dry food with NuVet supplement powder.
Neurological stimulation continues.
Exposure to children, basic commands, and noise continues.
Puppy receive their shots, deworming or fecal exam, health monitoring, and microchip (if applicable).
In-person visits continue
Deposits are accepted if any puppies remain available.
New puppy owners finalize all necessities to take the puppy home.

Pick-up meetings are scheduled.
Final payment is made.
Puppies Go Home!!
